2.67 acres Western North Carolina, Asheville area, mountain real estate

This is a very beautiful 2.67 acre property on Harrison Hill Road in the Bee Tree area of Swanannoa, about ten or fifteen minutes from downtown Asheville, North Carolina. The land is fully and maturely wooded, harboring a variety of species of trees as well as laurel, rhododendron and many other plants. It lays very well with a moderate but not steep slope and a variety of different types of spaces, including open woods, dim and damp creekside and an area about fifty feet in diameter near the upper end where the bedrock reaches the surface and is covered with moss and lichen- absolutely lovely. The winter view is excellent and the partial summer view could be easily improved with a little selective thinning, not affecting the better trees. Near the back edge a little creek meanders through. Surrounded by similarly sized parcels on one side and a thirty-odd acre parcel on the other, it's a naturalist's dream that won't ever be inundated with cookie-cutter houses. Anything from a tiny log cabin to a medium sized house would fit, or it could just be your spot to come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A perk test is on file approving a 3 bedroom house, with the option of a fourth bedroom if a pre-treatment system is installed.
Harrison Hill Road is a branched dead end, private above a certain point; the property is about a half mile past that and about 200 yards or so past the end of the blacktop, but below the steep parts further up. Access is easy and traffic is essentially nonexistent except for the few people that live here. The road is in excellent condition. There is an informal consortium of owners that takes care of maintenance, but most of that concerns the owners further up. At the bottom of Harrison Hill is a brand new fire station- always reassuring to have nearby, but well out of earshot.
There is only one neighbor within sight, just past the short drive that cuts into the property, which is flanked by a low stone wall and has a thirty foot circular flat area at the end of it. A new survey was done this summer, so the exact locations of all boundaries are clearly marked. This also showed that the property actually includes a small area on the other side of the road since the road meanders a bit off it's platted course. There is power at the edge of the property. There would need to be a well put in. There are no buildings or other man-made things except for the driveway. The land is clean, without junk of any sort. In short, this is a marvelous property at an affordable price, convenient to town but out in the country.
